Beatrice Walton received the Student Deak Award for her Note, Duties Owed: Low-Intensity Cyber Attacks and Liability for Transboundary Torts in International Law, 126 Yale L.J. 1460 (2017). Provided by the Oxford University Press, the Student Deak Award recognizes the best international law student work in a student-edited law journal.

Walton’s Note examines the "gap" in international law governing low-intensity state-sponsored cyber attacks. In light of this void, the Note suggests that a liability regime for the duty to prevent and redress transboundary harms might best address these new and increasingly common attacks.
